When we updated our RHEL6.5 guest OS with a 2.6.32-431.29.2.el6.x86_64 kernel to the current RHEL6.6 with 2.6.32-504.8.1.x86_64 kernel, the guest OS boot hangs after certmonger, presumably because the X server fails to start.

We are running Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac Version 10.1.4 (28883) on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) running OS X 10.10.2. Parallel tools was updated on the RHEL6.5 guest OS before upgrading to RHEL6.6.

The RHEL6.5 guest OS boots just fine although when we login as root we see popup for a brief period of time that says:

Could not apply the stored configuration for monitors / could not find a suitable configuration of screens
We can boot the RHEL6.6 guest OS single user and then go to init level 3. However when we try to go to init level 5, things hang. Trying to run startx from init level 3 fails with the following in Xorg.0.log:

    [ 591.788] (II) LoadModule: "glx"
    [ 591.789] (II) Loading /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/libglx.so

    [ 591.816] (EE)
    Fatal server error:
    [ 591.816] (EE) no screens found(EE)

Booting the previous 6.5 kernel does not solve the problem.
    Any suggestions?
