I've searched this forum and so far have found NOTHING that works. Basically, I am using Parallels 10 in Mac 10.9.5 and whenever I create an icon on the windows side say for a networked drive it shows up on the Mac desktop as well. I neither want nor need it on my Mac desktop. Worse still, the Mac icon has a decidedly low-res look to it!

Whenever I go into the Sharing tab and deselect the various options it simply breaks the association with the Windows desktop and the icons disappear from there! Does anyone have an idea what is going on here and how I can remedy it?

    Hi MarkL4,

If the "Shared profile" option is enabled from the Virtual Machine configure, the Mac files will be displayed in the Virtual Machine and if the "Share Windows" option is enable the Windows files will be shared on the Mac side.
Disabling Share Windows would have resolved your issue.
