    Hi,

I am using Parallels with a Windows 8.1 Bootcamp partition. I use remote access a lot and remote directly into the VM. There are often times when I would like to be able to reboot the host Mac remotely using Bootchamp or similar to boot directly into the Windows partition on restart. Is this feasible ? I cannot reboot the machine manually as I am usually 50 miles away from it. So no holding down the option key or anything like that.

*edit : To be clear, I am looking for solutions which work directly from within the VM. Obviously I could install remote access software directly on the Mac as well and switch when I need to reboot. But I'm wondering if there is a more elegant solution than that.

    Thanks,

    JF

    Hi Jean,

It is not possible to shutdown/reboot host OS from Virtual Machine, as Parallels Desktop is an application through which Virtual Machine runs.
When you directly remote access the Virtual Machine, it will assume as if you have remotely connected to another stand alone computer (even though you might be able to view files through Virtual Machine "PSF")

You can try the simplest way of remote access through mobile device or web console as well with another Parallels product : "Parallels Access"

To know more about Parallels Access, please refer to http://www.parallels.com/products/access/
