Is pausing of the Windows OS virtual machine tantamount to best battery saving?
    Pausing virtual machine automatically

Or is there any other way to stop Parallels 10 from running unless once requires Windows?
    Many thanks.

    Hello Internalaudit,
Pause Windows when no applications are open, this feature is designed to save your Mac resources, pausing a virtual machine is the best way to releases the resources, such as RAM and CPU from your currently used virtual machine.
