Hello, is there any way to slow down a virtual machine in Parallels Desktop for Mac or to simulate a low-performance PC? I need to test software performance wich runs in real on a PC with Celeron 1.5 GHz, 512 MB RAM and a really slow 80 GB ATA HDD. THX, Sascha
To change your virtual machine specs, start the Parallels Desktop application by clicking on the Parallels Desktop icon in the Applications folder Do not start the virtual machine. Then right click on your virtual machine in the Control Center and choose the Configure -> General tab, do the changes you need.
Hello SaschaBoemken, We do have some steps to enhance and speed up your Virtual Machine's performance. They are mentioned in this Knowledge based article: http://kb.parallels.com/en/112091 However you can try to check all those possible options mentioned in the article that will slow down your Virtual Machine. For example: Enabling "Real-time Virtual Disk Optimization" from Actions > Configure > Options > Optimization > Free Space: Real-time Virtual Disk Optimization. It may slow disk performance up to 30% .
