    Hi.
I need a process guide (and tool?) to convert VMware Fusion VM to Parallels 10.2 on MBP late 2014 running Yosemite 10.10.3 with 16GB. Not been able to find what I need yet. Anyone can help?

I found this article in the KB. http://kb.parallels.com/en/115305
Maybe more info is needed. I have never installed VMware on this machine. I need to run a VM produced by another company using VMware - see attached file. It looks like I can just open the prpc.vmx file found in the server folder. Am I interpreting this correctly or is there something I am missing? Is there anything I need to be aware of in going down this path - problems, issues?

Any insights would be very appreciated.

So on the topic of potential issues I found this KB article. http://kb.parallels.com/111956. Questions I have are:

    1. Does this apply to Parallels 10
    2. Can I still expect a need to purchase and install VMware if the conversion pops the errors it mentions?

So digging a little more, it looks like I could run this under my Parallel's Windows 8.1 VM following these steps:
The VMware Player application allows you to run the VM on Windows, and is included in the download.
    1. Navigate to the applications subdirectory of your VM setup directory.
    2. Double-click the VMware Player installer, VMware-player-5.0.1-894247.exe.
    3. Complete the installation accepting the defaults.

Maybe the safest course, but the question is, seems rather inefficient to run a VM under a windows VM, yes? Opportunities for more issues?

So I guess I am at the point - what is the best course of action,
      a. try it under the Windows 8.1 VM, or
      b. try to convert to a new parallels VM (is this really another windows VM) using the prpc.vmx file

So I elected to follow the direction in the KB article and the training process guide. Everything is working great so far. Another VM was created under parallels. I attached images of the conversion process to help reassure others that it works pretty easily.

FYI: this was done so I could complete some online Business Architect training for Pega Systems.
