My Windows 10 VM recently upgraded to 10074 and now I'm getting the "Windows cannot access \\.psf ... " error message.

I have gone through the steps in the Knowledgebase article (http://kb.parallels.com/en/6885) to solve this with no success.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi LeeP1,
This issue occurs when Parallels Services are not running properly within the Virtual Machine. Please disable the Antivirus and Firewall to check if the issue persist. You can also follow the steps provided in the knowledge base article: http://kb.parallels.com/118611

    Thanks,
    Padman

Just reinstall the Parallels Tools into the Windows VM. That's fixed this problem for me (I've been running through multiple attempts to get 10074 working properly this week).

I turned off the Firewall and Windows Defender, but was still unable to access my Mac files on Windows.

I have uninstalled & reinstalled Parallels Tools several times too. I did get an error message ... "Failed to uninstall driver prl_fs" in the process.

I'm facing this issue, too. @MacAttak, when I try reinstalling Parallels Tools, it seems things go from bad to worse. Have you succeeded in 10074 coming up and staying up and functional, across multiple reboots?

This issue really shows itself when I try to install Visual Studio 2015 Enterprise RC. It fails, and a scan of the log file seems to indicate that 'pfs' connectivity was intermittent.

My current working theory is that the current Parallels Tools is not yet fully compatible with 10074. At least the disabling of nested virtualization (discussed in another thread here) got me to an "almost" fully functioning system.

    same problem here....
I have been thru almost all the same issues .. "Failed to uninstall driver prl_fs" etc..
it looks like parallels "psf" tools are not ready for win10 100074...

    lets wait for an update.

    Hi,
thank you very much for your fast reply,
been there - done that - No result.
Actually, Parallels shows a error screen "problem occurred" please reboot.
    After reboot no Change.
So I deinstalled PT - reboot - reinstalled PT = same error message
Done this with a brand new installation of WIN10 100074

I have also followed the steps Ram@Parallels suggested for uninstalling and reinstalling PT (shutting down Win10 between steps) to no avail.

Same issue here. Hoping that Windows fixes this Network Share issue in the next build 10108, or even BETTER, that Parallels just updates PTools to fix the issue.

Windows 10 Preview build 10122, same thing. I have tried the suggestions above as well, no luck.

\\psf is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
The specified network provider name is invalid.

I must confess, I was wrong. I failed to perform step 2 above. Once I did this (and followed all the other steps), all is well with build 10122.

    These steps from Ram:

Hi All, Please follow the steps suggested below:
    1. Shut down Windows 10.
    2. Go to VM Configure http://kb.parallels.com/117287 > Options > Sharing > uncheck shared profile.
    3. Start Virtual machine install Parallels Tools manually as suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/en/112609
    4. Once it is completed Shut down Windows 10 again.
    5. Go to VM Configure http://kb.parallels.com/117287 > Options > Sharing > check shared profile and see if the issue still persisting,

Also, I did not uninstall Parallels Tools from Windows "Programs & Features". I used the "Reinstall Parallels Tools " from the Actions menu, just as indicated in step 3 above.

Steps #2 and #5 are key. Simply reinstalling Parallels Tools isn't enough. Thanks Ram!
