How do I configure Parallels 10 to use Safari instead of IE?

    Hi Craig,
Are you trying to install Safari browser in the Windows virtual machine? IE is a Windows based browser which is pre-installed with Windows.

Thanks for the reply. In a previous install of parallels 10, when a windows program wanted to open a browser I was presented with an option to use one of the browsers installed in the virtual machine or another option that was something like a shared browser or resource which opened safari on the Mac side. So how do I configure parallels to allow me to do that?

To make Safari as a default browser, please follow the steps below and check how it works:
    1. Open Safari
    2. Pull down the 'Safari' menu and choose to open 'Preferences' (or just hit command-,)
    3. Click the 'General' tab.
    4. Choose the default web browser you would prefer to use.
    5. Quit Safari.
