    Hello all,

I recently upgraded my hard drive for more space. Before I upgraded my hard drive my virtual machines worked flawlessly. I backed up my whole computer and I am able to open my virtual windows 8 but there are many errors. So I decided to download parallels 10 and start from scratch. I am getting that my product key is the upgraded parallels 10 version but I have at least three copies of older versions. How can I get my virtual machines back up and running?

    Hi KendreS,
We understand that you have replaced Mac hard drive you are unable to activate.
If you are trying to install an upgraded version of Parallels Desktop 10, it will ask to enter you the previous version key. And Parallels Desktop 10 can only be upgraded from Parallels Desktop 8 or 9. Hence, you will have you use either one of the key that you have. Please refer to this article, http://kb.parallels.com/122648

May I know how did you backup your virtual machine earlier before replacing the hard drive?

Ive read the article already. It does not help me in any way. I do not have the key for 8 anymore. It was given to me because of how close the purchase of 6 was to the release of 8. I remember speaking to someone and they walked me through the steps and gave me a product key to enter. How do I get another one?

I just went into to the time machine and hit back up before updating my hard drive.
