Hi, actually it is not possible to start the setup from the iso file. I get the message "Product key could not be checked". There is a Windows 8.1 in the VM and has all updates.
I found the same issue. From reading the Microsoft forums, the product key will only work if you upgrade windows, not do a clean install.
But i do the same process on my other machine. Start Setup.exe from ISO when i am in Windows 8.1 and then he did a upgrade.
Was the second VM a fully separate licensed copy or was it a copy of the first VM, i.e. both have different keys and activations?
Ok. Problem is solved. Some registry entries have to be deleted. And set "automatic windows updates".
