I just installed parallels on my 2015 Macbook pro, and am attempting to install autoCad software on the Virtual Machine.

This will be the first program I install on this virtual machine, and I've allocated a 275Gb expanding hard drive, so there should be plenty of space for the files. For some reason the installer is only showing 16GB of free space! When I bring up the system information through windows it shows 258/274Gb used, and that 219Gb of these are system files!

Clearly, this machine does not require 219GB of system files, considering its original hard drive allocation was 64Gb.

If anyone has any insight into what's happening here it would be much appreciated!

    Thanks for the response,

that article didn't solve the problem, after completing the switch the new hard disc was still pretending it was full!

However reading the article did clue me in to the fact that I could just erase the problematic machine and start over. So I did that. Problem solved!
