Hello, I've been using a Windows 7 vm in Parallels 10 for sometime. I decided to upgrade to v11 however when I try booting the Windows 7 vm it fails at boot saying no OS detected. It also seems to corrupt the vm image too as if I re-install v10 I get the same error. The only resolution is to restore a copy of the vm. Has anyone seen anything similar or can suggest a fix? If I open the corrupted VM in Fusion 8 it converts then works fine. Cheers, James
Hi James, Since we need to investigate deeper, please email us the issue description along with the screenshot to cs(at)parallels(.)com, so we can check it for you.
Hello, It seems that you're on outdated build of Parallels Desktop 11, please update Parallels Desktop to the latest build 11.1.1 (32312). You can update to the latest build as suggested in this article. Latest version always available here: http://www.parallels.com/directdownload/pd11/ Please note that Parallels Tools also needs to be updated (Actions > Update Parallels Tools). Please see this article to know more about Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac updates summary.
Hi Paul, I've updated to the latest build but got the same issue. I've been contacted to do a remote session to investigate the problem so I'll have to schedule that when I get a min. One strange thing. Before I upgraded to the latest Desktop 11 build I copied my Desktop 10 VM which was in suspended mode. When I launched it in Desktop 11 it resumed fine, updated the tools but when it rebooted the issue appears again so it looks like an issue during boot. Cheers, James
