Could I get clarification on the state of the reference Mac used to create an OS X boot image.

In the admin guide, page 103, it's not clear whether the reference Mac needs to have been configured with all the software and tweaks that will form a "gold" build image, or if it just needs to be a "clean" Mac build, as in an "out of the box" Mac.

    Thanks

    Robin

For the boot image it shouldn't matter. Personally I would take it from a clean machine because it's quicker.
It's for the system image you may want to install and customise the OS.

Thanks Matt. That's what I've done as it is quicker but just wanted some clarification.
