    Hi
on my Mac El Capitan I have paralles 11 installed and Windows 7 (imported boot camp) running.
Also a Linux Mint is running fine.
But my Windows 10 has no sound and the mic is not working.
In device manager the audio speaker is assigned to Parallels device, as well the mic.
There is no error (exclamation mark or red cross). But still no sound.
I have reinstalled the parallel tools, and I have removed all sound devices and win 10 reinstalled them.
    What else can I do?
Of course, the Mac itself, speaker and mic are working.

I did follow the instructions on the first link, but I dont have the connected check box
".2. Open your virtual machine's Configuration > Hardware > Sound.
    • Make sure Connected option is checked."
I also reinstalled the parallel tools. But after a reboot, it is still the same.
No sound. If I click test sound for windows action I get a message saying (in german language):
    Error playing the test sound.
    But all devices are ok.
    What else can I do?

Hi @ralfb1, try the steps below:
Please open Device Manager > Find Parallels Audio Controller > Uninstall > right-click on Computer (at the top of the list) > Scan for hardware changes
Reboot the virtual machine and check how it goes.

I did it before - no change.
In the meantime I have installed Windows 10 again with th latest image.
    The sound is ok now.
    It was really strange.....

I am having the same problem with Windows 10. I have tried every thing but no audio and it shows it not connected. I have loaded and removed parallel access several times and reloaded window 10. Any one any ideas of what to do at this point.

I suddenly lost sound in my W10 VM. Went back to OS X and verified audio is fine. How can that just happen? What do I do?

Hi AlexA4, please follow the steps below:
    1. (Re) Install Parallels Tools manually and check if the audio works in Windows.
If it still persists, follow the steps given here and let us know how it goes.

After a couple shutdowns/restart cycles sound was regained. Very strange, but it does point to the fragility of running Windows in a VM on Mac.

Hey AlexA4, As you have made several changes to the settings, shut down Windows, Quit Parallels Desktop and restart your Mac once.
In case you find the performance is broken, increase the RAM memory for Windows & check how it works.
