hi i am running the new parallels desktop (4560) on my mac, i have been trying to run a game and it keeps giving me this -

Sadly you are (like many of us) the victim of aggressive marketing. Currently, Parallels does not support anything beyond DirectX 8, so you will have to wait for a later version

I was having the same problem after I got the latest (August) release of DirectX and was trying to launch some of the Ogre samples.

I fixed the problem though.

If you go to your VM Configuration, there's an option in the "Video" section to enable DirectX support just tick the box and that should work.

 

That was uncalled for, if there were modpoints, I would be modding you down.

It seems like anthony found a fix... At least for him he just had to enable what he was trying to use.

I know people who run some DirectX stuff in Parallels just fine. It isn't full support, but 'anything' is a gross overstatement.
