    Hello.

I replaced my hard drive a few weeks ago and parallels has not worked since. I used Superduper for the bootable backup. When I launch parallels I get a message saying it failed to load, I can choose the reopen option but it makes me install windows again. If I install windows, create the VM and what not it works fine until I shut down parallels when it refuses to reopen the VM the next time with the same error. I upgraded to 3.0 and I have uninstalled and tried to use the 2.5 build I have as well but I have the same problem with either. Here is the first snippet of the report from the application failed to open error: Version: 2.5 (2.5 Build 3212.0)

    PID: 387
    Thread: 0

    Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
    Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x0000000c

    Hello,

Please uninstall Parallels, repair disk permissions using the Mac OS X Disk utility and install the latest Parallels build (3214 version 2.5 or 4560 version 3.0). See http://kb.parallels.com/entry/21/235/ for more information.

    Best regards,
    John

That did not fix the problem.

I bought fusion and it installed perfectly. I am no longer a parallels customer.
