Hi I have the network shared option grayed out. I've tried the procedure from this FAQ http://kb.parallels.com/faq/4/7/401/#401 but without results. My computer is a new, fresh installed MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz 17" with OSX 10.4.10 On my network preference pane I cannot get "Parallels Nat", but I get 2 "unknown" ethernet adapter as you can see on the attached image What can I do?
I'll bet you have software installed (on the Mac side) for Keyspan's USB Server. This has a known conflict with Parallels "Shared" and "Host Only" network drivers, and results in exactly what you are seeing. Unfortunately, there is no real resolution, other than uninstalling the Keyspan software. See the threads at: http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=10972 and http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=11296 Bill Halberstadt
yes.. I have it, but I can't uninstall because I use it all the days! Thank you for the info! I'll send a mail also a Keyspan
Sending a complaint to Keyspan is a good idea. I wish everyone with this problem would do that. Parallels has stated that they can not avoid this problem from their side. A good description of the problem for Keyspan would be to say that the Keyspan driver (kext file) for the Keyspan USB Server wipes out the ports established by the Parallels driver as it loads.
HI halberstadt, I've sent this to Keyspan support mail: Keyspan Support If someone else has the same problem please write a support mail to keyspan too!
