I have a bridged connection running from MacPro to a XP VM.
Connected to internet thru Ethernet connection on linksys gateway.
Set up static IPs for Mac and VM(xp).
Set up my port forwarding, no big deal.

using utorrent and my port is still blocked using my VM.

read everything there is to read on forums to port forward and I'm no stranger to the process but cannot port forward the bridged connection .

    can anyone help??

    thanks.

Really? That is strange... Have you tried re-booting? Just a thought. I'll try and come up with some ideas for if that fails.

Turn off your Windows firewall and see if the forwarded port works. If it does then it's a windows firewall config issue. If not, then it's a router/firewall issue. You can also try forwarding to another system/computer on your network and see if the forwarding is actually working. I've been doing port forwarding using a Linksys to my VM since the earliest releases and all has been working fine.

Eru, rebooted. no luck, at least i think...

I had Windows and & kaspersky firewalls turned off. So I shut down kaspersky completely.
double checked to see if PeerGuarian was blocking. It was blocking, but this was no the case when i first had the problem. so this maybe something i have to check each time i open XP.

Also, even though Windows firewall is off i set up an exception for the port I'm forwarding.

Its now working! now i have to figure out what actually fixed this. Might have been the reboot all along and peer Guardian re-blocked the port.

    Thanks for the help!!!
