Problem: Windows 10 Start Menu not appearing in coherence when dock icon is pressed. It was working fine until a windows 10 update, then Parallels Tools also reinstalled afterwards. If file explorer or any other windows application is open, then it will overlay the start menu over that window (see attatched screenshots). If no Windows 10 windows are open, then the Start Menu will not appear. This is also the case for task bar items such as Network Options, Battery, and Sound that appear on the OSX menu bar. Attempted solutions: - Reboot Mac - Reboot Windows 10 VM - Reinstall Parallels Tools
New user here. I had signed up for the trial of Parallels and done a clean install of Windows 10. Worked fine for the past week so I decided to buy Parallels. At the same time that I activated it yesterday both Windows 10 and Parallels 12 had updates. Once both updates finished I had problems too similar to what you are describing. If I fiddle with start button and try launching windows applications in coherence like MS Office as well as jumping in and out of coherence eventually things work but the lag is so horrible that I am thinking of reinstalling everything (but i fear that I'll have issues activating windows again if I do). Right now Windows 10 is unusable for me. I'm hoping an update clears things up.
