WinOS: Window 8.1 masOS: Sierra PD: v12 I was updated from PD v10 to v12 this week, however, the resolution can't be changed any more to fit 2560x1600 like i used to set in v10. Icon is big and windows is also big like i'm an old man for using computer. it doesn't work even if we uninstall Parallels Tool and reinstall it. Am i forced to update WinOS to Windows 10?
Hi @EchoL Please adjust the virtual machine configuration as below 1. In the Mac menu go to Actions -> Configure... -> Hardware ->Graphics> Switch to scaled 2. Restart the virtual machine 3. Change the resolution of the Windows 8.1 if required
Hi Guna Thank for prompt reply. It doesn't work even follow you instruction step by step. The resolution in Windows 8.1 insist on 2560x1474 no matter how many times I changed. I Don't have this kind of problem when i use PD10 and PD11, I think I shall go back to PD11 or I can't work as usual. Sigh..
I think I found where the problem is, I just got back to PD11 and the icons become very small then I right click on Windows Desktop -> Screen resolution > Make text or other items larger or smaller > set 150% scaling(Default) and hit Apply & Sign Off then windows resolution coming back to what I expect to have thought it's still 2560x1474, the key point is "text or other items larger or smaller" setting. I can't configure this setting in PD12 because it always insist on 200% scaling no matter how many times I applied & signed off. Would you please feedback this problem to your engineering team and fix it?
Hi @EchoL To improve dynamic resolution of Windows virtual machine on Retina display in Parallels Desktop 12 for Mac, 'Best for Retina' option is now keeping the resolution scaling at 200%. If you want to manage resolution scaling settings in Windows virtual machine, please change resolution settings of the virtual machine to Scaled (VM configuration > Hardware > Graphics) . Once the resolution settings is changed, please sign out & sign in again to set the scaling. Check this out
Hi Guna Thank you for reply. Actually, I've tried that way before but the image quality was become worse. They are same "Best for Retina", would you please advise why you keeping the resolution at 200% in PD12 as PD11 is not?
