Hi, first time user of Parallels, and just have some general questions about the safety of sharing. I currently have the default sharing settings and really do like the convenience of being able to access everything regardless of where I am however I am concerned that I will regret leaving it like this in the long run. What kind of problems or security issues could this lead to? I have Bitdefender for Mac installed and will be installing antivirus on the windows side as well but could an issue with windows damage what is stored in my home folder on the mac? Also if I were to uninstall windows and parallels, what happens to the mac home folder? Would the files that have been saved there from windows be gone. Just trying to figure out the pros and cons of full access versus isolation or maybe somewhere in the middle. Much appreciated!
Thanks for the reply and the article. I had already read that and am already sharing as per default settings but am trying to figure out whether it is the right choice in the the long run.
Hi Josh, new user here also ... Just wondered if you ever received answers or came to some conclusions on your questions. I have the same concerns. Also what antivirus did you end up installing into Windows? I have Bitdefender multicomputer (mac/pc) on my iMac, and would love to know I can use it in Windows as well. I am trying to figure out if that is working for anybody else.
