Hi there, I've installed Parallels Desktop (now updated to 12) on my Mac Pro (Windows 10) and have been trying to get it to work for the last 3 weeks or so, I seem to have tried everything on the knowledge base to get it to work and it's still slowing my mac down to close to unusable, Please can somebody point me in the direction of something to help me out? Thanks
Hi, could you please provide us with the screenshot of your Activity monitor (with running Parallels Desktop app)?
Hi MikeS9, please follow the instructions below to fix the issue: 1. Quit Parallels Desktop. 2. Launch Terminal.app on the Mac. 3. Execute the commands in Terminal window separately (one by one): Note: you will be asked to enter your Mac password and hit Enter to continue, it will not be seen in Terminal window due to security measures. sudo rm -rf /Library/Preferences/Parallels/network.desktop.xml sudo killall -9 prl_naptd 4. Start Parallels Desktop.
Mikes-iMac:~ mike789s$ sudo killall -9 prl_naptd No matching processes were found Mikes-iMac:~ mike789s$ Is this correct??^
You might want to give VMWare Fusion a try. Much better licensing deal and Windows just runs, no issues. Parallels needs to get their act together if they really want to keep current customers and MAYBE attract new ones.
Since the issue requires a deeper investigation, we request you to email us with the detailed description at cs(at)parallels(.)com and we'll follow up.
