Hi there, whenever I start Parallels Desktop.app I get a spinning wheel that goes on for minutes and then it just closes down.
I tried doing the command found on troubleshooting:
    sudo chown -R root:wheel /Library/Preferences/Parallels
Also installing, uninstalling, reinstalling and nothing.
This is the latest Parallels 12 with MacOS Sierra. I could open it a few weeks ago and installed windows 10 successfully, but it broke suddenly.
I also tried the old repair permissions methods and opening it with a newly created User on the mac... nothing.

Hi there. Both links point to the same article.

Did the steps as provided, restarting the computer after step #2 and still no results. After installation Parallels opens itself and shows the gray spin wheel animation for about one or two minutes and then it shuts down.

There is no error message, this is the only thing I see for minutes before it closes down without any notice.

This worked for me. However I notice that my Keyboard is not working when in the Control Panel... Settings.... dialog box, where it says "Find a setting". Nor does it work in Calculator, Cortana, or any other Windows dialog box. However the keyboard does work when running applications, Word, Excel, browsers, etc....

    Please advise.

    Thank you.

I have this problem when running in Full Screen Mode.
    Thank you.

  14. Thanks a lot for provided report.
    Please try this KB

  15. @MarcR2 the reason of this issue is probably Windows system corruption, and this KB will help with 8 and 10 versions.

And please create a backup copy of your VM before making any changes.

    Thank you.

    I ran sfc /scannow

    And it completed:
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

I did not continue with DISM since there were no errors.

    Please advise.

  17. Thank a lot for the provided results.
    Please try this.

Hi @ShaoJ, please follow the steps mentioned below to fix the issue:
1 Apple menu, open Force Quit window (keep it open)
2 Launch parallels, you will see Parallels desktop shown on the window
3 Choose PD and force quit.
4 Relaunch PD and then hopefully it works.
