I have just upgraded to ver 12. I have a virtual win 10 machine on a usb external drive that works okay. I have now created a bootcamp windows 10 installation that works as I can boot into windows from startup. When I create a new virtual machine for the bootcamp I simply get the Dos prompt and it dose not boot. Any ideas where to start?
@SteveW4 Hi. Have you tried steps as suggested in this article ? If so, Stop (or) Shut-down Windows > access config > Hardware > Hard Disk 1 > expand Advanced settings > Location > change it to IDE 0:0 or 0:1 & so forth and check if Windows boots. Keep us posted with the results when you perform these steps.
The article is suggesting a repair is needed on the drive but I can boot directly into windows, I am changing the drives and testing now.
The partitions are confusing. Partition1 .2 gb Partition 2 168.9 gb Bootcamp 181.34 gb Which should I point to sata4 failed
You'll need to modify it in Parallels configuration as suggested. I also suggest saving a backup before you perform these steps.
Hi Guys, I got a remote support session. The installation had stalled. They deleted the bootcamp and reinstalled and it worked.
