    Hi all,

I've had this struggle for a while. Upon a fresh restart of parallels and a fresh VM boot, ctrl as a keyboard modifier works just fine. Somewhere along the line, it stops working. I haven't figured out what triggers it. If I exit coherence, it works fine in full screen mode. If I reenter coherence, it does not work. The only thing that resolves it is to shut the VM down and quit/restart parallels. I've tried the "optimize for games" option with no luck. That was the only suggestion I got out of searching.
It's a frustrating issue. I use Labview in my VM. Coherence is great to allow me to spread out windows across monitors. The ctrl modifier is incredibly important when programming in Labview.
    Thanks for reading!

    Parallels Version 12.2.1 (41615)
    MacOS 10.12.5
    Windows 7, 64bit

[edit] I misspoke....I only need to restart the VM to correct the behavior. It's not necessary to restart parallels.

    Hi @TimH2,
Please check out the below steps to fix the issue:
    * Shut down my virtual Windows machine instead of suspending it
    * Quit completely out of Parallels Desktop
    * Reopen Parallels Desktop
    * Open the configuration for your Windows machine
    * Under Hardware > Mouse & Keyboard, I can see that Keyboard is set to "Optimize for games"
    * Change that setting to "Don't optimize for games"
    * Change that setting back to "Optimize for games"
    * Start up the Windows virtual machine
    * Connect to a server computer via Remote Desktop
    * modifier keys (shift, ctrl, alt) should work as expected.

Did not work. I followed the instructions. 3 hours into running the VM in coherence and ctrl does not work.

    No suggestions beyond this?
