    hello,
i've been using snow leopard, 10.6.8 and parallels v8 for many years now.
now, i'm in the process of upgrading my mac pro to el capitan, 10.11.6
which is the last OS that my mac pro supports.
    i have 2 parallels VM's, w2k and win7.
if i buy and install parallels v13, can v13 see and use my v8 VM's ?
    or are intermediate steps needed....
i actually have a boxed copy of parallels v10, which i never installed because v8 did everything i needed.
will i need to install v10, import the v8 VM's into v10, and then import them from v10 into v13?
or??? i am not sure how to proceed, so i am asking.
    thanks in advance!!
    michael

what made me think about this...
with acronis true image, acronis maintains compatibility with only the 3 prior versions of its software.
so, for example, if i have v10 of acronis true image, v10 knows how to read hard drive images from v7 / v8 / v9, and of course v10.
any hard drive images made with an earlier version, v6 and before, are not guaranteed to work with version 10 of its software.
so, anyway, i didn't know if parallels worked along similar lines.
    thanks again.
