I am using Parallels 3/Win XP on a MacBook, and have just reconfigured my laptop for Boot Camp - partitioned off part of the hard drive and reinstalled Windows on the partition.

Picked it up in Parallels beautifully and all seems to be working just fine (after reinstalling some drivers following the Parallel Tools installation!) BUT I am unable to run Parallels Compressor - the menu is unavailable (grayed out).

I did have Compress on for my C drive, but turned that off, thinking that might be the problem.

Still no joy - is compression unavailable with a Boot Camp partition?

    Hello,

you're right - Compressor is not available through a Boot Camp, only in a VM.

    Best Regards,
    Alicia.

    So does that mean...?

that each time I use Parallels my hard disk size will keep getting bigger and bigger with no way to rein it in?

You can use some third-party software to compress your Bootcamp partition. For this:
Boot in BootCamp natively. Install software. Run it. Also you can increase Boot Camp partition size in Mac OS X preferences.
