Hi - First post here I believe (though I did have an account I didn't remember) I'm a semi-casual user of Parallels 10 with one Windows 7 Guest, the only reason I run Windows is for Visio (one of my most useful programs). Currently I'm running Visio 2016 Pro. Things generally run well, though it does slow down to a crawl at times, today I ran out of application memory and had to force Parallels to close (but I did have a lot of Safari tabs open). I have a 2012 Mac Mini Server (2.6 GHz Quad Core i7) w/16GB RAM, Intel HD 4000 Graphics w/1536 MB, 128 GB SS Boot Drive, 1TB Data Drive, macOS 10.13.5. I'm strongly considering upgrading to 13 as the current price isn't much to pay for any kind of performance enhancement, I don't really need any additional features, just hoping for more reliable and faster use of Visio (I do have some very large and complex drawings). Given my Hardware and OS' are there any issues I should be aware of should I upgrade to 13? Compatibility w/Win7, Older Mini, whatever? I plan on getting the basic home edition as I feel my needs are few and I don't want a subscription. Thanks for your input -- Bruce
Ok, maybe that wasn't a very interesting question. If I do upgrade to Parallels 13 and have a problem, can I go back to 10? or does my license for 10 become unusable? I assume the guest VM may take a new format and may not be useable under 10, but if I have a backup, can I reinstall Parallels 10 and use the VM in the state it was at when I upgraded?
Ok, it's simple, but too late. You can't 'upgrade' from 10 to 13, you must purchase a new license. Could someone not have posted that simple piece of information? I'll be asking for a refund or disputing, unfortunately contact here does't seem very easy.
