No Install of Ubuntu 18.10 with Parallels

    Tried to install the Ubuntu 18.10 beta and it hangs at the "Who are you login?" screen; does not allow typing in the dialog boxes (see the screenshot). This happened on two Mac machines running Mojave. I successfully installed Ubuntu 18.10 using Virtual Box; no problem with typing in the dialog boxes. So FYI, I hope you fix it so I don't have to use Virtual Box.

    Just an update, I did successfully convert the Virtual Box Ubuntu 18.10 VM to Parallels but unfortunately the Parallels Tools installation failed per the screenshot.

    Hello MarkByrn, Kindly follow the instructions from this link and install Parallels Tools manually.

    yes, i did that but it still failed as per the screenshot

    Hi @MarkByrn , can you please try uninstall and reinstall Parallels Desktop and check if that works.

    I ran into the same problem during install of Cosmic. I am running Parallels 14.0.1.

    Cosmic OS is officially not supported in Parallels Desktop.

    Ajith, Cosmic Cuttlefish is the name of Ubuntu 18.10.

    18.10 will install using Parallels 14.1.

    Same problem with me, The mous works fine, the keyboard doesn't :-(

    I can confirm Parallels Tools works correctly in Ubuntu 18.10 on Parallels 14.1
