Not sure whats going on, but how come I keep receiving "Windows 10 is installing updates" if I actually have Windows Updates on Pause?

Latest Win10 update, latest version of Parallels Desktop.

    Any ideas?

  2. Hi RamunasC1. Please provide a screenshot of the Windows updates popup message and the page where the Windows update settings are set to pause so that we can check and assist furtuer.

Not sure what other screenshots you need other than what I already posted in my first post in this thread... can't you see them?

We see that the Windows updates are paused but not stopped that is the reason you are getting the alert. If it is stopped then you will not get that alert.

Are you inffering Windows 10 is actually still pushing/installing updates even when the "Pause" option is enabled for a month or longer on the Update Windows Advanced settings? Or maybe you're not entirely sure what that specific Update Windows advanced option even means?

Pause Windows update option will suspend the progress in the middle that means update installation/download is paused for a while. It needs to be completed. In Windows 10 there is no option to stop updates. Until you complete the updates you will be getting pop up that update is being installed.

Not possible, because I paused Windows Updates after I finished installing all updates (per my first post in this thread). I believe this is some sort of Parallels Desktop bug, because I keep receiving this notification every time I start PD - every day! not possible for paused Windows Updates to keep installing updates every day.

Try disabling that option and check if you are getting that popup again.

Display of this can be turned off in the Mac. Preferences, notifications, then find the Parallels entries and turn the display off.
However I suspect you are seeing the issue with Parallels 14, where it seems to partially or completely lock-up the disk interface. I get this pop-up appearing every time this happens. They have said it is 'being worked on', and admitted it is 'widespread', so hopefully a fix will appear quite quickly....

you mean I should turn off all PD notifications in my MacOS notifications preferences, even though there's only one PD notification that is supposed to be buggy?

    That's entirely up to you.
If you don't like the notification, this is how to get rid of it.
