After my unsuccessful attempt to get my printer to work form the VM using Parallels 2.5, I upgraded to 3.0 (build 4560.) (Using Mac OS 10.4.10) I can print from the Mac, but not from the VM (using Windows XP Home.) I am trying to use Bonjour using generic printer driver. Before tryign Bonjour whenever I tried to print I received a message that the printer was in use by another application. My printer is a Canon Pixma which came with the IMac. When I try to print from VM, it says it is printing, but nothing happens. Can't delete the job from the VM, but can delete it from Mac side. I have not installed the Canon supplied printer driver, as I understood that would be a problem with Bonjour.
will try again Stacey- Thanks for your suggestion, I did see that thread before and tried these solutions when I was running 2.5 I will try them again with 3.0 and see if they work. But another quesiton - do some of these conflict with each other? For instance< i now have Bonjour installed. Do I have to uninstall that to try printing directly as a local printer from parallel port?
now it is working Thanks, Stacey, am now able to print using the procedure in "Printing from Windows VM using Parallel Port (Default Printer)", using the "HP Color Laserjet 8500 PS" driver.
