My VM does not start. It is stuck at "Trying to boot from SATA drive". The Knowledge Base Article 113342, "Virtual machine does not start: Trying to boot from SATA drive" advises I iuse the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment. A search for "Windows Recovery Environment" reveals a Microsoft page that speaks about using the hardware recovery button (or button combination) upon reboot. For a Parallels VM, what is the hardware recovery button (or button combination)?
I am not sure this will help but it is worth a try. If you would like to try to boot into safe mode: https://kb.parallels.com/en/118732 . Also do you have parallels tools installed in your vm?
