For each of our Macs, we have multiple Time Machine destinations configured in macOS Mojave. This includes an always-on USB hard drive on each machine, plus two NAS devices. One of the NAS devices is always kept offline while the other is online. This ensures that even if malware wipes a machine and network volumes, the offline NAS will still be intact.

I've noticed that if both devices are not turned on, Parallels may stop taking snapshots on any virtual machines that are configured with SmartGuard set to "Optimize for Time Machine." If one of the NASes is off for a couple weeks, Parallels will not take any snapshots at all for a couple of weeks.

Is it possible that Parallels relies on the last backup time on one specific Time Machine entry to know when it's time to make a snapshot again, rather than looking at the most recent backup time on *any* entry?
