Hello, to fix this issue you have to open System Preferences Application --> Security & Privacy --> Privacy tab. Choose "Screen Recording" in the list on the left. It is a list of application that can capture the screen. Check that either "Parallels Toolbox" or "Capture Area" application is in the list and that appropriate checkbox are turned ON. Restart Parallels Toolbox after enabling checkbox.
That doesn't fix the issue. Not only does it not capture a window (acts like it's capturing the entire screen) it doesn't save the screen shot anywhere.
Hi, could you please share more details with us, for example provide us with the step-by-step instructions in order to reproduce the issue on our side. Looking forward to your reply.
Hi, if you are talking about taking a screenshot of the active window. The procedure is Shift-Command-4 then depress the Spacebar. Your mouse icon will turn into a cross with a circle in the middle. As you move your mouse around to different open windows, it will highlight it as if you are copying everything to the clipboard. Click on the window you want to capture. You will hear a "camera shutter" sound if you have sound enabled and turned up. In the bottom right corner will be a temporary thumbnail of the captured window. Click on that then click on the "Done" button. It should save the screenshot on your desktop as that point. I hope that helps
Latest catalina here -- screenshot not working in that it doesnt save the file if it is anywhere other than desktop (so doesnt save to a network share, for example)
