I keep getting the error "Windows cannot access \\Mac\Home\Desktop error". as described in this link https://kb.parallels.com/en/4841 . When I try to reinstall Parallels Tools, the button is grey and unselectable. Should I follow the intrusions to uninstall them through the windows VM and then reinstall, or is something else the problem?

After opening my terminal to see if I could continue the next steps without reinstalling Parallels Tools, I found that my terminal did not seem to match the one in the instructions. Specifically referencing the 3rd step under resolution, my terminal does not have the highlighted text in the example terminal. Is this an issue that. would be fixed with uninstalling, the reinstalling, Parallels Tools? Or is it possible there is another reason all together I am getting the "Windows cannot access \\Mac\Home\Desktop error"?

  2. Hi KevinT3. Please provide the macOS and the Parallels Desktop version to check and assist further.

I tried to reinstall Parallels Tools from the Windows VM, but it doesn't list it as a program that I even have installed. I believe it was installed at one point, as I have connected to the Mac desktop before, but it is not listed an option to uninstall it under the program and features.

Is the Program Parallels Toolbox the same as Parallels Tools or are those two different programs?

Hi, Parallels Tools is Parallels Desktop app component that allow seamless operating between macOS and Windows or another guest operating system.
And Parallels Toolbox is a separate software
