How to use clipboard history? Why there is nothing happened when I click the "clipboard history"

I checked the help documentation although it's too simple. Could anyone shows the snapshot?
I can set the preference box of Clipboard history. Thx

using Clipboard History is simple - just click on Clipboard History icon in menu bar and choose item you want to paste into Clipboard.
