New Mac with Parallels 15. I cannot connect to the internet. Tried all the suggestions that I read about. Using windows 8. Everything was working on the old Mac but when it ported over something must have happened. Who's good with networks? Can you help?
I have to ask from The Paralles menu at the top of your vm. when you select the Network Icon Which of the choices do you have selected? How is your network set up in your vm Under Control Panel> All Control Panel Items>Network and Sharing Center?
I have tried them all, but currently it is set at Shared Network. "Control Panel" is grayed out (see screen shot);
I would like you to try to go to control panel from inside windows. Not from the Parallels menu from the top.
I have to ask did you reinstall parallels tools inside your vm when you moved it to the new location. You should do that. The above items are things I would check if I couldn't connect to the internet, just to check how things are set up. Have you tried all three of the options from the dropdown menu in parallels? Let me know, what you see.
Let us know if the Windows is getting any IP address even if it is APIPA or static. How long you are using this virtual machine?
No, the second picture is not from troubleshoot problems. Under Homegroup I see this screen. When I click on 'connect' nothing happens.
It is reporting an IP dress when I check in the Mac System Preferences in Network. I was using Parallels 14 since it first came out with no problems. Then the subscription ran out and I stopped using it. Now I have a new computer and this is running under the Parallels 15 trial.
