I created a mojave VM on a MacBook pro 2017 running catalina, put it on an ssd, copied it to MacBook pro 2015 running catalina, but the login password doesn't work. First problem, it doesn't recognize the @ sign. I switched to Australian keyboard, and while that produced the @ symbol, the login still failed, so I am assuming the underlying Unicode is different in some way.

I suppose I'm wondering why this problem exists at all. It's a real nuisance, and I wonder why Parallels hasn't fixed it, since I first complained about this in January. Surely it's easy enough to reproduce and test. Isn't getting this right what you're supposed to do? If I can't log in to the VM, then it's not much good to me, is it?

The VM login continues to work fine on the MacBook pro 2017, but really, this is a VM, it's supposed to be portable, and that is very, very far from being good enough.

On another topic, why are copies of my VM now destroying my keychain?
