My machine is stuck in suspended after the crash. I cannot turn it off to change the hypervisor. Any recommendations?

Open Parallels Control Center, then double click on virtual machine (it will open new window with suspended machine). With focus on that new window - go to the top menu, and press Stop button in the Actions menu. After this - you can go to the settings and change Hypervisor type.

Any idea when this will be fixed? I notice a HUGE performance difference using the Apple Hypervisor

    VM stopped.
    Select the Parallels 'settings' button.
    Hardware
    CPU & Memory
    Advanced settings
'Hypervisor' select Apple from the pull down box
Close this and boot the VM

For the stuck machine, select 'actions', stop.

    Yep,
    B6 of Big Sur,
    - Parallels hypervisor completely crashes MacOS, as we have no information from Parallels themselves, this looks like a Parallels issue (although MacOS probably shouldn't crash like it does).
    - Apple Hypervisor, works, but slow and a bit buggy, i.e. responsiveness, etc.

Again, Parallels, help your customers understand, i.e. "Yep, issue is x, and we are expecting a fix in y", rather than ignoring your beta testers....

Whats the difference between the two? Parallels 16 says it's 2x as fast now.. is the same true about the Apple App Store Version?

If you are considering purchasing parallels, I'd check out the thread above, Parallels is a great product, but when there are issues, don't expect any info back from them and might take several months to fix. My experience is wide than just using beta's, it seems normal practice from Parallels

This worked for me : https://kb.parallels.com/125039

For each VM you are using, do the following:
    1. Make sure that virtual machine is shut down. If it is suspended, go to Actions > Stop.
Note: All saved data in the suspended state will be lost.
    2. Open virtual machine configuration.
    3. Go to Hardware > CPU & Memory > Advanced Settings.
    4. Change Hypervisor type to Apple.

  15. Hello guys,
please update your Parallels Desktop to the latest build 16.0.1 and check the issue.
    Looking forward to your reply.

Same issue on Big Sur 11.2.3 and Parallels Desktop 16.1.3 Pro Version (49160). I bumped into this problem since I upgraded from Standard Edition: in order to use Docker Desktop in my VM I need CPU Virtualization. Previously, with Standard Edition and Apple Hypervisor I have never encountered any problems.
