The possible solution for F12 problem can be found here. Stacey M Since leopard upgrade everything works fine, but no F12 key. All other Function keys work fine. Help. Yes I have the check box checked to use Function keys
Hello, could you please tell me what type of Mac do you use? Did you try to push Apple+F12? Best regards, Stacey
I am using a macbook pro, with apple keyboard. Apple +F12 does not work either. Other Function keys work fine.
Since the keyboard layout in system prefrences has been changed, all pressing the Fn +F12 will do is increase or decrease sound level.
Hello, you can use Actions -> Send Key -> F12 in menu. Also try to check the settings for your Keyboard in Mac OS. 1. Go to the Apple System menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard & Mouse in the Hardware section. 2. In the Keyboard&Mouse window, select Keyboard tab and check option Use F1-F12 keys to control software features. Best regards, Stacey
Hah, but that does nothing. F12 is the EJECT key - just put in a CD and press the F12 key a bit longer. Setting the preferences does not change this. It's a Leopard problem I already posted this malfunction earlier (http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=17588&highlight=F11)
Yes. This issue exists only on Leopard. We'll investigate it and fix or find some workaround for you.
FYI, my F12 key pulls up Dashboard as it has always done. Using Leopard with latest Parallels beta on an IMAC with 2gb memory. I noticed that Apple has published some bug fixes to Leopard with the new aluminum IMACS and Pros. Maybe that will help if you have one of those??
A little suggestion for everyone with the F12-Problem. I've found a workaround, because my Parallels (5540 in Leo) resulted a "scroll lock"-keycode instead of the hitted F12: Use the shortcut-overwriting of OSX (System Preferences / Keyboard & Mouse / Keyboard Shortcuts). Press "+" and choose as application Parallels Desktop (via "Other"). Fill "F12" in the "Menu Title" field and press as shortcut... *tada*... F12. This uses the menu-entry "Send Keys / F12" and works. Oh, and if F12 opens your Dashboard, so change it in the same System Preference-Pane above. But pleaaase, developers: Add a better configuration pane for Parallels key behaviour. Thanks for your attention, have a nice day.
