Hi All, After a Leopard install yesterday one of the many bugs I noticed is that after booting parallels 5160, both windows versions of Opera and Firefox would close themselves out (crash if you will) completely after simply clicking a simple link. No rhyme or reason, they would just quit on their own. I didn't notice this in IE6. If I use either Opera or Firefox Mac versions, no problems at all. I tried to simulate the same links that crashed from windows versions in the mac versions to no avail. Any ideas as to why the windows versions of these browsers simply do not work in either 5160 (which I am now back to) or 5540 which I know is not technically supported but this has happened identically on two identical macbook pro's, 2.4 4GB etc... ?? Thoughts and/or advice appreciated.
Hello, have you tried to reinstall Firefox and Opera? Try to uninstall them and the folders they created manually and then install them again. Best regards, Alicia.
Hi Alicia, thanks for your reply! I sure have reinstalled which didn't change anything up front but I think I have since found a workaround which may be why they seem to be working properly now or maybe just a bit of luck. I think i've gotten 5160 working pretty steadily now after some tweaking and thus far haven't had the same issues. In Opera which I use most, I set the pages to identify as internet explorer (tools > quick preferences > edit site preferences > Network tab) and all has been working very well for about a day straight now. I haven't had a chance to fiddle with firefox yet but if it still comes up there, I'll try out the IE plugin that they offer and see how that goes. Thanks As an aside, I typed this out in opera but there were no submit or reply buttons so am submitting through IE
