VM internet speed a fraction of non VM speed

Still using Win7 in a VM on my MacBook Pro but have speed tested it against the Mac side (ELCapitan). 30MB/s diminishing to about 2MB whereas Mac is about 130MB.Using Parallels 14
I think this has been going on for some time.
Any thoughts or suggestions please?

Hi DouglasK1. Try changing the network mode to Default Adapter in Parallels Desktop configuration and check for the internet speed.

 

Stupid question - how do I access Parallels Desktop configuration please?

Tried that but it made no difference 30-40Mb dropping after about 5 seconds to 1Mb. Upload is about 2.5Mb
Any further thoughts please?

 

Are you using Parallels Desktop 14? What is your macOS version?

No, speed there is about 130Mb same as on an iMac without parallels. Is it the windows settings at fault? Windows fault diagnostic says no problem
