    Hi,

Longtime user of PD, which I use to run a Windows 10 VM on my Mac.

A few days ago I upgraded to the latest version of PD (16). Since then, a new folder has appeared on the desktop of my Windows 10 VM, called "Mac Files". It contains links to the Dropbox, Home and iCloud locations on my Mac. If I right-click on the folder, a "Delete" option is available; however, the folder reappears next time I restart PD16.

Why has this folder suddenly appeared, and more importantly, how can I permanently get rid of it.

    Thanks in advance :)

    What is your guest OS?

Sorry. This is strange and should not be the case.
This folder will be removed if you disable all Mac-Windows file sharing.
Or you can try importing attached reg file in guest OS.

Well, I don't want to disable all file sharing.
How do I import the file? Might doing so have any unwanted side-effects?

Download, unpack if needed, then transfer it to Windows and double-click on it

OK, but what about the second part of my question: are there any potential unwanted side-effects/risks to installing this file? What exactly does it contain?

It contains only what you need: removal of Mac Files desktop icon.
