VMWare 12 Fusion performance is awful on my Big Sur MacBook Air, I can't recommend it at all. Though of course you can test by yourself since it's free, you might get luckier than me and have a better performance

You need to disable channel mitigations on VMWare for increase the performance.
    To do this:
    • Turn off the VM
    • Go to your VM settings
    • Go on Advanced
    • Check the option "Disable Side Channel Mitigations"
    Start again and check speed.

Thanks but I already tried this and countless fixes listed on VMWare forums, it just doesn't solve anything on my machine. Hopefully it does on others though. I spent the past week trying to get either Parallels or Fusion 12 to work, but every time there is something wrong while Parallels used to work perfectly on Mojave before I upgraded to Big Sur ):

Same problem here looks like just upgraded to Big Sur and can connect to network. Can't even use microphone and camera.

Same here. All VM's became useless. Tried several settings (not so many in Parallels Desktop 16) - nothing works. We need an urgent fix, dear Parallels team.

I am having this issues and the fixes don't work. Also, Parallels 16 messes up by ExpressVPN. The VPN gets no data unless I shutdown Parallels completely. Crazy stuff that this is not fixed yet. It has made Parallels unusable. Parallels 16 and support for Big Sur have been the worst experience I have had thus far using Parallels for years.

Im having the same issue after upgrading to Big Sur my Windows has no Internet connection Im running Parallels 16.1.1
I tried sudo rm /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist && sudo killall -9 configd
    But had no effect
PLEASE sort this out Parallels - this support page is no good https://kb.parallels.com/en/125039

    Hi All,
I think my issue is same as here.
Have several VLANS trunked to switch ports for connection to networking lab. Since upgrading to Big Sur am unable to bridge VLAN into VM. Have testing VLAN with DHCP, mac pref gets IP and GW, when bridged to VM get donuts, bridge direct to Ethernet (untagged traffic), good to go. Have active ticket, tried all workarounds, to no avail. Any assistance would be great, USB to Ethernet introduce many other issues.
    Thank in advance.

Maybe next year they will fix it, awesome that we still have no updates.

+4 - this is ridiculous. I just purchased parallels but it's complete crap for me. No networking is useless. Will see if I can get a refund. Terrible.

    I found the solution
solution is go to in your controll center settings--network and restore default for shared and host-only.
    thats it ;)
