I want to upgrade my HDD in my macbook pro. I'm thinking about cloning that Mac portion of the disk and installing it on the new HDD then reinstalling Windows on the second partition (I am running boot camp and Parallels). The data on the Mac OS is more important to me than what is on the Windows side. Will Parallels have a problem with the new install since the drive and the Windows install will be "different"? There is no current way to clone the whole drive (both mac & win partitions) that I am aware of. I'd be interested in hearing anyone who has migrated everything to a new drive.
Hello, actually I'm not sure if you can clone your bootcamp to a new hard drive, perhaps you should consult Apple support. After the transfer some issues with a partitions table may occur but it can be fixed with a custom bootcamp configuration. Or you can transfer your bootcamp partition Windows to a Parallels VM with the latest version of Transporter and then move the VM to the new hard drive and use it there. Best regards, Alicia.
