Windows in Parallels on M1 can't download files

I can't download files. I copied an installer to the Windows VM, tried to run but it seems to need Visual Studio or C++ or something. I was getting errors like "mfc140u.dll" and others. I tried to install Visual Studio but the download failed. This isn't the first time this failed. I'm evaluating Parallels and if this works, I'll be happy to purchase it for my computers, but how can I get this to work?

 

Any thoughts on troubleshooting this issue? I want to buy parallels but need download capabilities
