I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence or if it's a real issue, but I installed Parallels 17 this morning and let it install its new extension. After I restarted, my SoftRAID raid drive no longer mounts at all. The SoftRAID software shows it's fine, but it won't ever mount. As a test, is there a way to remove the extension Parallels 17 installed and that I approved in the system prefs security panel? I'm running SoftRAID 6.0.5 on MacOS 11.14 on a 2019 8 core i9 15" MacBook Pro
To follow up on this, I threw Parallels 17 away and uninstalled SoftRAID. Then I restarted, installed SoftRAID and my drive came back online. Then I installed Parallels 16 and everything works. So either it was a weird glitch, or Parallels 17 does indeed break SoftRAID.
I reinstalled 17 today and so far Softraid is working. It was really strange as NOTHING I did would bring it back until I uninstalled 17 completely. Just glad it's working now. Just for reference, though I didn't need to run this, SoftRAID suggested this tip: https://forums.softraid.com/functionality-issues/parallels-17-breaks-softraid/#post-11156
