I updated Parallels 12 via the link in the app awhile back prior to updating from Mojave to Big Sur. My SL VM and Windows VM worked well so I stopped there and was a while before I actually went to buy the newer version. After buying a license via the app, it turns out I was actually running Parallels 16 in demo and the license I bought was for 17. So I upgraded Parrallels to 17 and that's when the problems started. The Windows VM runs fine but the Snow Leopard VM kernel panics half way thru the boot process. Now I can't get a license for 16 any more (have the installer backed up) and am stuck. Can't go back and 17 crashes SL VM. Anybody have any luck with Parallels 17 and a Snow Leopard VM?
after many troubleshooting efforts getting nowhere I installed Fusion and it boots the Snow Leopard vm just fine. Just a note for anyone else having issues with Parallels 17 and Snow Leopard.
