Using the latest Tech Insider Preview (build 21382) on an M1 MacBook Air with Parallels 16.5. I have a tool that requires the Microsoft Visual C++ 2019 x86_64 runtime. However every time I download the x86_64 installer, some way, somehow it installs the ARM64 version instead. Other x86_64 Visual C++ runtimes installed without issue, so what is the problem with the 205/17/19 version? The tool I'm using WILL NOT work with the ARM64 version.

I've tried running the vcrun installer in Windows 8 emulation mode, but it won't even start. I have had no problems installing the x86_64 of the VC++ runtimes for 2013 and earlier versions. So I do not understand what the problem is...

This was extremely helpful! This worked to get Shure Designer running on my M1. I revised the instructions a bit in case anyone needs additional clarity:
    1. Install C++ x64 normally on a PC
    2. Go to C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\ and find the cached data with vcRuntimeMinimum_amd64 in it.
    3. Copy that entire cache folder (similar to "3407B900-37F5-4CC2-B612-5CD5D580A163")
    4. Paste it to the same directory on your Parallels machine - C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\
    5. After pasting, go to the vcRuntimeMinimum_amd64 folder and run terminal from that folder (right-click -> open in terminal)
    6. Run "msiexec /i vc_runtimeMinimum_x64.msi ADDEPLOY=1" in terminal and it should manually install x64 C++ on your VM.
Note: you'll have to go to view->show->hidden items in C: to see Program Data

I uploaded my cached data in case someone doesn't have access to their own PC. I highly recommend using your own PC with the latest version of C++ for the widest compatibility with the software you're trying to install.

  3. Hi, is it possible to collect the tech report once the issue reoccurs?
If yes, could you collect the technical data please?

Which Windows version are you using?
Right now only Windows 11 arm could emulate x64.

Yes, it is a M1 Mac and I installed the ARM64 version of Windows 11 in Parallels. I copy the details:
    Edición Windows 11 Home
    Versión 21H2
    Instalado el ‎10/‎12/‎2021
    Versión del sistema operativo 22000.348
Experiencia Paquete de experiencia de características de Windows 1000.22000.348.0

The problem is that, when I try to install the VisualC++ redist 2015-2019, when I try to install the x64 version it is automatically detected that it is an ARM64 machine and install this version of VC++. But the problem is that the program I want to install needs this version and it detects somehow that is not installed.
Any help would be very welcomed. Kind regards

Are you able to try "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Latest Supported Downloads"? This includes 2015-2022 redist.

Good morning, let me summarize my problem:

    1) I want to use a Windows business program which requires VisualC++ 2015 redist, both x86 and x64, to be installed.
    2) I have downloaded the latest VisualC++ redist 2015-2019, but when I try to install the x64 version it is automatically detected that the computer is an ARM64 machine or that the Windows version is ARM, and then install this version of VC++ (ARM64 instead of x64). I have tried installing older versions to see if any of them installs the x64 version, but all of them detect it is an ARM machine or Windows and install the ARM64 version of VC++
    3) When I try to install the business program I need, it does detect that the x64 version of VC++ 2015 is not installed - I presume this is the moment in which Parallels should "trick" the program, but it does not.

Any help would be very welcomed. Kind regards

Good afternoon, it doesn't work. If I install the latest version of vc++ x64 redist., is detects it is not a x64 Windows/computer and then installs the Arm64 version:
    upload_2021-12-14_15-24-9.png

But then the program I want to use detects vc++ x64 is not installed:
    upload_2021-12-14_15-25-1.png

However, if I try to install in Parallels an older version of vc++ x64, to avoid the installation of the Arm64 version, I get an error:

    So I am stuck with this problem, any upload_2021-12-14_15-24-9.png upload_2021-12-14_15-25-1.png upload_2021-12-14_15-26-41.png upload_2021-12-14_15-26-49.png upload_2021-12-14_15-24-9.png upload_2021-12-14_15-24-9.png upload_2021-12-14_15-25-1.png upload_2021-12-14_15-26-41.png upload_2021-12-14_15-26-49.png upload_2021-12-14_15-24-9.png upload_2021-12-14_15-25-1.png upload_2021-12-14_15-26-41.png upload_2021-12-14_15-26-49.png upload_2021-12-14_15-26-49.png upload_2021-12-14_15-26-41.png help would be very welcomed

Good evening, thank you very much. With the link you sent me I was able to install the x64 version in Windows 11 ARM; however, the program is still telling me that there isn't installer the x64 version of VC++ 2015 redist. I am also in contact with the supoprt of the program to check if they can do something...

I am having a similar issue with an installer that will not complete because of missing 2015-2019 x64 C++ runtime components. The latest version of the runtime library is installed. Has anyone found a solution?

Friends, I have the same problem. I have installed all the VS c++ 2015-2022, but the app says it is not.
    I really need this app.
What can we do about it?
