    Hi

I recently upgraded to Parallels 17 on my MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 and can't find an option to enable nested virtualization. I have seen it in the earlier version 16 but missing after upgrade to 17.

    Context
When I am trying to use WSL2 on Windows 11 guest OS, I am getting this error:
WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80370102 The virtual machine could not be started because a required feature is not installed.

Several online sources suggest enabling one of nested virtualization, PMU virtualization, Intel VT-x etc., which is what I can't seem to find / enable. I have tried almost everything that I can find online in the several hours of investigation to resolve this. None of them work. Following are some of the sources I tried BUT DO NOT WORK:

Here is the information about the machine:

    macOS Big Sur Version 11.6
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
    Processor 2.3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
    Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Your Mac is up to date macOS Big Sur 11.6
Last checked: Today at 9:29 AM

    sysctl -a | grep machdep.cpu.features

So, is there a way to enable nested virtualization in Parallels 17 so that I can use WSL2 on Windows 11. Help much appreciated.

Yes, I went through a few times. But based on the discussion with customer support, I confirmed that the option was removed in Parallels 17 in desktop version. I am pretty sure that I had that option in Parallels 16. The option is now available only in the pro version which is a yearly subscription.

I feel Parallels is becoming like 1Password :(

WTH? It's bait and switch crap like that that makes me keep pondering other VM solutions. Granted, I don't Need this function, but it's the priincple of the thing.
